How to spot a fake job posting in two minutes
Three checks that tell you whether a posting deserves your time and your data.

Most job postings are genuine, but fraud is common enough to be worth two minutes of checking before you send your details.
1. Find the posting on the company’s own site
Serious employers publish openings on their careers page or on the hiring platform they use. If the job is in neither place, stop and ask.
2. No fees to apply
A real employer never charges you to apply, to train, or to “reserve” a role. Any request for payment is a clear sign of fraud.
3. Watch the email and the channel
A message from a free email address instead of the company domain, or an interview held only over a chat app, deserves caution. Ask for a video call with someone you can verify on the company website.
